You reach to your pocket and take out the sausage.
You drop the sausage right in front of the vision of field of the velociraptor.
The velociraptor looks straight at you.
A panicked sensation runs through your entire body.
In the moment that feels like it lasts forever, you plot an escape plan in your mind. Your body feels paralyzed.
There is no window into which you can jump. There is only a single crate, and the raptor is between you and the crate, meaning you cannot hide behind the crate. Your mind zooms between different details of the room in rapid progression whilst your body feels stiff like if it's made of cast iron.
The velociraptor then looks down and observes the sausage.
You regain control of yourself.
